Four Seasons Resort Maldives at Kuda Huraa lies about 25 minutes by speedboat from Velana International Airport, in North Malé Atoll, and we reach it by boat from our base. It is a compact, garden-rich island with a village feel: pitched roofs, flower-lined paths, a ring of bungalows on the beach, and overwater villas along the lagoon edge. Being close to the airport it is one of the easiest luxury resorts for us to reach on the day, and the nearby surf break adds an unusual action option for active couples.
