Professional photography on Dhigurah, Alifu Dhaalu Atoll: honeymoon and couples sessions, proposals, families and drone aerials, photographed by locals who know the island's best light.

About Dhigurah
Dhigurah, literally 'long island', is a slender 3 km ribbon of jungle and sand in South Ari Atoll, about 97 km from Male, with a village of 761 people clustered at its northern end. It is best known as a base for whale shark excursions, since South Ari is one of the few places where the animals aggregate year-round, and its long beach was ranked among the World's 50 Best Beaches in 2026.

Practical notes for Dhigurah
Swimwear belongs on the designated bikini beach only; in the village and on local beaches, dress modestly with shoulders and knees covered.
December to April brings the driest, sunniest conditions and calmer seas; whale sharks are present in South Ari year-round.
Shared speedboats from Male take about 2 hours; the public ferry costs around 8 USD but takes 6 hours or more on limited days, and a 20-minute domestic flight to Maamigili plus a short speedboat hop is the fastest route.
Drone flights require MNDF clearance and a Civil Aviation Authority permit obtained in advance; confirm locally before flying near the village.
