About Fenfushi
Fenfushi is a village island of about 1,000 people in the south-west of South Ari (Alif Dhaal) Atoll, roughly 111 km from Malé and close to Maamigili and its airport. It is best known for craft and heritage: the island has a long tradition of coral-stone carving, and its old Friday Mosque is one of the finest surviving coral-stone mosques in the country, with intricately carved walls and an ancient cemetery. Add the whale shark waters of Maamigili Beyru just offshore and Fenfushi pairs culture with the atoll's best wildlife.
Shooting on Fenfushi
We arrange boat or domestic transfer, or pair you with a Coora photographer already in Alifu Dhaalu Atoll.
Golden hour, roughly 5:30 to 6:30pm, is when Fenfushi's beaches glow. We schedule every shoot around it.

Practical notes for Fenfushi
The fastest route is the 25-minute domestic flight from Malé to Maamigili (Villa International Airport) followed by a short speedboat hop; scheduled speedboats from Malé take around two hours.
Swimwear only on the designated tourist beach area; modest dress in the village and especially around the mosque.
Nationwide permits apply, and the proximity of Maamigili airport adds airspace restrictions, so seek explicit clearance.

We arrange boat or domestic transfer, or pair you with a Coora photographer already in Alifu Dhaalu Atoll. If you're already staying on Fenfushi, we meet you there; we photograph guests on their own island.
Golden hour: roughly the last 60–90 minutes before sunset, and the first hour after sunrise. We schedule every Fenfushi session around it and move between jetty, beach and palm lines as the light changes.
It depends on the beach: swimwear is only allowed on designated tourist beaches on inhabited islands. We confirm Fenfushi's rules before your shoot and plan looks and locations to match.
Often yes. Drone rules vary by island and resort; we check Fenfushi's current permissions before your session and, where flying isn't possible, plan aerials from a nearby sandbank.
