on Rasdhoo
Professional photography on Rasdhoo, Alifu Alifu Atoll: honeymoon and couples sessions, proposals, families and drone aerials, photographed by locals who know the island's best light.

About Rasdhoo
Rasdhoo is the small administrative capital of Alif Alif (North Ari) Atoll, a walkable island community sitting on its own ring reef roughly three hours west of Male by ferry. It punches far above its size in the water: its channels are a renowned dive area where hammerhead sharks are sought on early-morning dives, and mantas, turtles and reef sharks pass close to the island. On land it stays an unhurried village with a short but well-kept tourist beach.

Beaches & photo spots on Rasdhoo
Rasdhoo's compact designated beach, about 100 metres of sand with hammocks and shade. Tight, but photogenic at golden hour.
Uninhabited islet with adjoining sandbanks a short boat ride away: the classic bare-sand-and-lagoon setting.
Famous dawn dive site off the atoll edge; underwater work only, with hammerhead sightings possible on early dives.
The arrival jetty and dhoni traffic frame the reef drop-off just beyond the harbour wall.

Practical notes for Rasdhoo
Western swimwear is allowed only on the designated Bikini Beach, which is short (about 100 m); on village streets and other beaches, cover up.
The public ferry from Male runs Sundays, Tuesdays and Thursdays at 09:00, taking about 3 hours (around USD 3.50); scheduled speedboats cost about USD 50. Rasdhoo also has onward local ferries to Ukulhas (daily except Friday) and Thoddoo, making it a natural hub for multi-island shoots.
Maldives-wide MCAA permit and island council permission are required for any flight; there is no Rasdhoo-specific exemption.

Golden hour: roughly the last 60–90 minutes before sunset, and the first hour after sunrise. We schedule every Rasdhoo session around it and move between jetty, beach and palm lines as the light changes.
Yes. Rasdhoo has a designated bikini beach, so swimwear and beachwear frames are fine there. Elsewhere on the island modest dress applies, which we plan around.
Often yes. Drone rules vary by island and resort; we check Rasdhoo's current permissions before your session and, where flying isn't possible, plan aerials from a nearby sandbank.
