About Mathiveri

Mathiveri is a compact village island on the western rim of North Ari Atoll, home to around 878 people on a footprint of barely 800 by 475 metres. Roughly 85 km from Male, it keeps the unhurried rhythm of a small fishing community while a handful of guesthouses host visitors drawn to its clean beaches and easy reef access. Its signature is Mathiveri Finolhu, an uninhabited picnic islet sitting just off the beach.

The designated tourist beach on the island's western shore, with sunbeds and umbrellas and open water toward the sunset.

Flying a drone in the Maldives requires clearance from the MNDF and a permit from the Civil Aviation Authority; arrange approvals well before travel and confirm with the guesthouse or island council before flying over the village.
