About Himmafushi
Himmafushi is a compact fishing and boat-building island of about 2,000 people, only 17 km from Male in North Male Atoll — one of the closest local islands to the capital. It is best known to surfers for Jailbreaks, the long right-hander breaking off its southern edge, and to day-trippers for its souvenir shops and working dhoni shipyard. The result is a village that mixes real trade with an easy, salt-worn charm.

Practical notes for Himmafushi
Swimwear is tolerated at the beach on the island's northern tip near the guesthouses; elsewhere on the island, dress modestly as in any Maldivian village.
The public ferry between Male (Jetty 1) and Himmafushi runs daily except Fridays, about 50 minutes for roughly USD 2; shared speedboats make the trip in 15-20 minutes for about USD 10-15 several times a day.
Jailbreaks works year-round, but the recognised surf season runs from mid-March to the end of November — outside the dry-season peak, which matters if you are pairing surf frames with beach sessions.
Maldives-wide MCAA permit rules apply to every flight, plus island council permission; without paperwork keep the drone grounded.
