About COMO Cocoa Island
COMO Cocoa Island, on Makunufushi in South Malé Atoll, is about 40 minutes by speedboat from Velana International Airport. We come to you by boat from our base. It is a tiny island, almost all of it a long sand spit, with villas built entirely over water in the style of traditional dhoni boats and a house reef a short swim away. The scale is intimate and the lagoon is pale and shallow, giving uncluttered backgrounds and easy sunrise-to-sunset light. A natural fit for honeymoon and anniversary sessions.
Shooting at your resort
We arrive at COMO Cocoa Island by boat or seaplane transfer and shoot on your resort island: beach, jetty, villa deck or a nearby sandbank.
Golden hour, roughly 5:30 to 6:30pm, is when Makunufushi's beaches glow. We schedule every shoot around it.
Where a resort requires photography or drone permissions, we handle the arrangements before your session.

Resorts set their own photographer and drone policies. We clear access with the resort before your session, and where drones are not permitted on the island we shoot aerials from a nearby sandbank by boat.
Around 40 minutes by boat from Malé; the sand spit is best around low tide, so we check tide tables when fixing your slot.
