on Utheemu
Professional photography on Utheemu, Haa Alifu Atoll: honeymoon and couples sessions, proposals, families and drone aerials, photographed by locals who know the island's best light.

About Utheemu
Utheemu is a small island of about 600 people in Haa Alifu Atoll, nearly 300 km north of Malé, and one of the most important historical sites in the Maldives: the birthplace of Sultan Muhammad Thakurufaanu, who drove out the Portuguese in 1573. His family home, Utheemu Ganduvaru, is a preserved 16th-century wooden palace with carved timber interiors and swing beds, beside the Bodu Thakurufaanu Memorial Centre. The island itself is calm and green, with a quiet harbour and lagoon, and is reached via Hanimaadhoo airport and a speedboat.

It depends on the beach: swimwear is only allowed on designated tourist beaches on inhabited islands. We confirm Utheemu's rules before your shoot and plan looks and locations to match.
Often yes. Drone rules vary by island and resort; we check Utheemu's current permissions before your session and, where flying isn't possible, plan aerials from a nearby sandbank.
