About Meedhoo

Meedhoo shares the island of Hulhumeedhoo on the eastern rim of Addu Atoll with its twin Hulhudhoo: around 1,900 people on 1.8 km², separate from the link-road islands and reached by boat across the lagoon from Feydhoo or Gan. It is one of the oldest settlements in the country: the Koagannu cemetery is said to be the oldest in the Maldives, with ancient coral-stone tombs and mosques, and the island is known for its scholars and its strong Addu identity. Long beaches and a quiet reef make it a calmer alternative to the city side.

Questions

Photoshoot on Meedhoo: FAQ

We arrange boat or domestic transfer, or pair you with a Coora photographer already in Addu Atoll. If you're already staying on Meedhoo, we meet you there; we photograph guests on their own island.

Golden hour: roughly the last 60–90 minutes before sunset, and the first hour after sunrise. We schedule every Meedhoo session around it and move between jetty, beach and palm lines as the light changes.

It depends on the beach: swimwear is only allowed on designated tourist beaches on inhabited islands. We confirm Meedhoo's rules before your shoot and plan looks and locations to match.

Often yes. Drone rules vary by island and resort; we check Meedhoo's current permissions before your session and, where flying isn't possible, plan aerials from a nearby sandbank.
