About Fonadhoo

Fonadhoo is the capital of Laamu Atoll, a long, slim island of about 2,300 people on 1.7 km², roughly 259 km south of Malé, linked by causeway to Kadhdhoo airport and onward to Gan. It is the atoll's administrative centre with a protected harbour, long lagoon-side beaches and shady village lanes, and it sits at the edge of the same channels and reefs that give Laamu its surf and dive reputation. Tourism is modest, so beaches are rarely busy and guesthouse boats reach sandbanks and breaks quickly.

It depends on the beach: swimwear is only allowed on designated tourist beaches on inhabited islands. We confirm Fonadhoo's rules before your shoot and plan looks and locations to match.

Often yes. Drone rules vary by island and resort; we check Fonadhoo's current permissions before your session and, where flying isn't possible, plan aerials from a nearby sandbank.
