About One&Only Reethi Rah
One&Only Reethi Rah sits on Medhufinolhu in North Malé Atoll, about an hour from Velana International Airport by the resort's own launch; we reach it by speedboat from our base. It is one of the largest private islands in the atoll, with a dozen separate beaches curled around its coastline, tall coconut palms, and a line of overwater villas on the lagoon. The scale is the story here: long empty sand, wide turquoise shallows, and a choice of sunrise or sunset shores on the same island.
Shooting at your resort
We arrive at One&Only Reethi Rah by boat or seaplane transfer and shoot on your resort island: beach, jetty, villa deck or a nearby sandbank.
Golden hour, roughly 5:30 to 6:30pm, is when Medhufinolhu's beaches glow. We schedule every shoot around it.
Where a resort requires photography or drone permissions, we handle the arrangements before your session.

Beaches & photo spots on One&Only Reethi Rah
Villas step straight into a pale, shallow lagoon, giving clean horizons and soft reflected light, strongest in the last hour before sunset.
Private stretches of white sand shaded by palms, for relaxed walking frames with no other guests in view.
A long wooden jetty over the lagoon; the classic leading-line composition, best at first light before boat traffic.
The western shore catches the full sunset; we finish most sessions here as the sky turns.

Practical notes for One&Only Reethi Rah
Resorts set their own photographer and drone policies. We clear access with the resort before your session, and where drones are not permitted on the island we shoot aerials from a nearby sandbank by boat.
Roughly an hour by boat from Malé, so we plan travel around your golden-hour slot and usually arrive early in the afternoon to scout light with you before we start.
