Utheemu is a small island of about 600 people in Haa Alifu Atoll, nearly 300 km north of Malé, and one of the most important historical sites in the Maldives: the birthplace of Sultan Muhammad Thakurufaanu, who drove out the Portuguese in 1573.

We shoot loose and playful first (running, splashing, building sand) and gather the classic all-together frames when everyone is warmed up. Sessions are paced around the kids, not a shot list.
Early morning is often best with small children: softer light, cooler air and empty beaches. Late afternoon golden hour works well for older kids and groups.
We arrange boat or domestic transfer, or pair you with a Coora photographer already in Haa Alifu Atoll. If you're already staying on Utheemu, we meet you there; we photograph guests on their own island.
Golden hour: roughly the last 60–90 minutes before sunset, and the first hour after sunrise. We schedule every Utheemu session around it and move between jetty, beach and palm lines as the light changes.
