Solo / Portrait
on Thoddoo
Travelling solo or want portraits that aren't selfies? A relaxed one-on-one session around your island, from the jetty to the beach and the palms, in golden light. Photographed on Thoddoo, Alifu Alifu Atoll, by locals who know the island's best light.

Thoddoo is the Maldives' garden island: a lone, unusually large island north of the Ari Atoll rim, about 67 km from Male, where much of the country's papaya and watermelon is grown.
Planning a portrait photoshoot on Thoddoo? The island sits about 68 km from Malé in Alifu Alifu Atoll, roughly 75 minutes by speedboat. It has a designated bikini beach, so swimwear frames are possible on the tourist stretch. The calmest seas and clearest skies typically run Jan, Feb, Mar, Apr, Nov, Dec. Tell us your dates and we'll schedule your portrait photoshoot around Thoddoo's golden hour.

Solo / Portrait on Thoddoo: quick answers
Not at all. It's a relaxed one-on-one walk around your island with guided posing. Most solo guests say it was the most fun hour of the trip, and it beats tripod selfies.
Yes. Tell us the look and formats you need (vertical crops, product in frame, multiple outfits) and we'll plan the session and delivery around it.
Speedboat from Malé in 75 minutes (~$50), or the public ferry (Mon, Tue, Wed, Thu, Sat, Sun, 300 min). If you're already staying on Thoddoo, we meet you there; we photograph guests on their own island.
Golden hour: roughly the last 60–90 minutes before sunset, and the first hour after sunrise. We schedule every Thoddoo session around it and move between jetty, beach and palm lines as the light changes.
