Rasdhoo is the small administrative capital of Alif Alif (North Ari) Atoll, a walkable island community sitting on its own ring reef roughly three hours west of Male by ferry.
Planning a drone photoshoot on Rasdhoo? The island sits about 58 km from Malé in Alifu Alifu Atoll, roughly 80 minutes by speedboat. It has a designated bikini beach, so swimwear frames are possible on the tourist stretch. The calmest seas and clearest skies typically run Jan, Feb, Mar, Apr, Nov, Dec. Yes, with permissions. Drone flights require approval and local consent, and rules differ by island and resort. Our pilots are licensed and we arrange the permissions for your location in advance.
A sandbank. The classic Maldives aerial is two people on a bare white sandbank surrounded by turquoise. We take you there by boat from your island or resort, usually a 10–20 minute ride.
Speedboat from Malé in 80 minutes (~$40), or the public ferry (Mon, Thu, 180 min). If you're already staying on Rasdhoo, we meet you there; we photograph guests on their own island.
Golden hour: roughly the last 60–90 minutes before sunset, and the first hour after sunrise. We schedule every Rasdhoo session around it and move between jetty, beach and palm lines as the light changes.
