Trincomalee について
Trincomalee has one of the world's largest natural deep-water harbours, which is why every colonial power in the region fought over it. Fort Frederick still guards the neck of the peninsula, and at its tip Swami Rock drops straight into the sea below the Koneswaram temple, a Hindu site rebuilt after the Portuguese destroyed the original.

The east coast is at its best from roughly May to September, when the south and west are under monsoon.
Koneswaram is a working temple. Shoulders and knees covered, shoes off, and no photography inside the inner shrine.
