Silhouette is the third-largest granitic island and one of the least developed, most of it a national park of mist forest rising to Mont Dauban at just over 700 m. There is no airport and effectively no road network, which is why its beaches and interior stay as empty as they do.

## Where we shoot on *Silhouette*

- The west-coast beaches: Long, near-deserted sand with the forested ridge behind, and almost nothing built in frame.
- The mist forest: Dense high-altitude forest on the slopes of Mont Dauban, dim, green and best on an overcast day.
- The channel to Mahé: The island's profile across open water, strongest from the boat at either end of the day.

## Practical notes for *Silhouette*

- Access: Silhouette is reached by boat from Mahé and there is no airstrip. Crossings depend on sea state, so day trips need a weather margin.
- National park: Most of the island is protected. Trails are the only route inland and a guide is required for the higher forest.

**How does the shoot work on Silhouette?**

We travel to Silhouette by ferry or light aircraft and arrive before your session. Tell us where you are staying and we will meet you there. If you are already staying on Silhouette, we meet you at your hotel or at the beach.

**When is the best light for a photoshoot on Silhouette?**

Golden hour: roughly the last 60–90 minutes before sunset, and the first hour after sunrise. We schedule every Silhouette session around it and move between jetty, beach and palm lines as the light changes.

**Do we need permission to shoot on Silhouette?**

Public beaches in Seychelles are open to everyone and need no permit. Nature reserves and private islands charge an entry or filming fee, which we check before your date.

**Can you fly a drone for our photoshoot on Silhouette?**

Drone use in Seychelles needs clearance near the airport and over some reserves. We check the rules for Silhouette before your date and plan aerials around them.
