# Maldives Photographer on Kamadhoo

Kamadhoo is a small, quiet island of about 550 people in the north of Baa Atoll, roughly 129 km from Malé, reached by a 20-minute flight to Dharavandhoo and a boat across the atoll. It has a handful of guesthouses (around four), a designated bikini beach and a healthy house reef, and its distance from the main tourist routes keeps the beach empty most days. Boats run from here to the biosphere reserve's manta sites and to the sandbanks and uninhabited islands that dot northern Baa.

## Beaches & photo spots on *Kamadhoo*

- Bikini beach: The designated tourist beach of white sand and shallow lagoon, usually deserted; best in afternoon and sunset light.
- House reef: Shore-entry reef with turtles and reef fish, for snorkel and split-level frames in morning calm.
- Nearby sandbanks: Bare sandbanks a short dhoni hop away, minimal backdrops for couples and drone-free wides.
- Harbour jetty: The small harbour with fishing dhonis and the atoll beyond; leading lines at dawn.

## Practical notes for *Kamadhoo*

- Getting there: Domestic flight Malé to Dharavandhoo (about 20 minutes), then a speedboat transfer to Kamadhoo arranged by your guesthouse.
- Bikini beach rules: Swimwear only on the designated bikini beach; modest dress applies in the village.
- Manta season: Hanifaru Bay's season runs roughly May to November; the calmer dry season of December to April suits beach sessions.
- Drones: Nationwide MNDF and Civil Aviation Authority permits plus council permission, with extra restrictions inside the biosphere core zones.

**How do we get to Kamadhoo for the shoot?**

We arrange boat or domestic transfer, or pair you with a Coora photographer already in Baa Atoll. If you're already staying on Kamadhoo, we meet you there; we photograph guests on their own island.

**When is the best light for a photoshoot on Kamadhoo?**

Golden hour: roughly the last 60–90 minutes before sunset, and the first hour after sunrise. We schedule every Kamadhoo session around it and move between jetty, beach and palm lines as the light changes.

**Can we wear swimwear for our photoshoot on Kamadhoo?**

Yes. Kamadhoo has a designated bikini beach, so swimwear and beachwear frames are fine there. Elsewhere on the island modest dress applies, which we plan around.

**Can you fly a drone for our photoshoot on Kamadhoo?**

Often yes. Drone rules vary by island and resort; we check Kamadhoo's current permissions before your session and, where flying isn't possible, plan aerials from a nearby sandbank.
