# スリランカ Sigiriya のカメラマン

Sigiriya is a granite plug rising about 180 m out of flat forest, fortified as a royal citadel by King Kashyapa in the fifth century. Water gardens, boulder gardens and terraces run out from its base along a symmetrical axis, the remains of frescoes sit in a sheltered pocket halfway up, and the summit still carries the palace foundations.

## *Sigiriya* の撮影スポット

- The water gardens: Symmetrical pools and causeways on the western approach, with the rock behind. The classic wide frame, strongest from the air or from the upper terraces.
- Pidurangala Rock: The neighbouring outcrop, and the only place to photograph Sigiriya itself in full. A steep scramble at the top; sunrise is the session.
- The Lion's Paw terrace: The carved paws at the base of the final staircase, with the plain opening out behind.

## *Sigiriya* の実用メモ

- Timing: Gates open early and the rock is hot and crowded by mid-morning. Sunrise from Pidurangala or first entry at Sigiriya are the two workable slots.
- Site rules: Sigiriya is a ticketed World Heritage site with restrictions on tripods, drones and commercial shoots. Permission has to be arranged in advance, not on the day.
