Praslin is the second-largest island, about 45 minutes by fast ferry from Mahé, and it holds the Vallée de Mai: a palm forest that is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and the only place the coco de mer grows wild. The coast alternates between granite headlands and short, bright beaches.

- Anse Lazio: Granite boulders closing both ends of a pale crescent on the north-west coast, widely called one of the best beaches in the world.
- Vallée de Mai: Dense coco de mer palm forest with filtered green light. A protected reserve with its own rules on access and tripods.
- Côte d'Or: A long east-coast bay, calmer and more open than Anse Lazio, and an easier sunrise position.

- Ferries: Praslin connects to Mahé and La Digue by scheduled fast ferry. Crossings can be cancelled in heavy swell, so we build a margin around them.
